12Humanity’s Sin Through Adam. Therefore, just as through one person sin entered the world, and through sin, death, and thus death came to all, inasmuch as all sinned— 15Grace and Life Through Christ. But the gift is not like the transgression. For if by that one person’s transgression the many died, how much more did the grace of God and the gracious gift of the one person Jesus Christ overflow for the many. 17For if, by the transgression of one person, death came to reign through that one, how much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of justification come to reign in life through the one person Jesus Christ. 18In conclusion, just as through one transgression condemnation came upon all, so through one righteous act acquittal and life came to all. 19For just as through the disobedience of one person the many were made sinners, so through the obedience of one the many will be made righteous. 20The law entered in so that transgression might increase but, where sin increased, grace overflowed all the more, 21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through justification for eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

7Sacrifice and offering you do not want; you opened my ears. Holocaust and sin-offering you do not request; 8so I said, “See; I come with an inscribed scroll written upon me. 9I delight to do your will, my God; your law is in my inner being!” 10When I sing of your righteousness in a great assembly, See, I do not restrain my lips; as you, LORD, know. 17While those who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who long for your salvation always say, “The LORD is great.”

36Be vigilant at all times and pray that you have the strength to escape the tribulations that are imminent and to stand before the Son of Man.”

35“Gird your loins and light your lamps 36and be like servants who await their master’s return from a wedding, ready to open immediately when he comes and knocks. 37Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them. 38And should he come in the second or third watch and find them prepared in this way, blessed are those servants.
