2Habakkuk’s First Complaint - How long, O LORD, must I cry for help and you do not listen? Or cry out to you, “Violence!” and you do not intervene? 3Why do you let me see iniquity? why do you simply gaze at evil? Destruction and violence are before me; there is strife and discord. 2God’s Response - Then the LORD answered me and said: Write down the vision; Make it plain upon tablets, so that the one who reads it may run. 3For the vision is a witness for the appointed time, a testimony to the end; it will not disappoint. If it delays, wait for it, it will surely come, it will not be late. 4See, the rash have no integrity; but the just one who is righteous because of faith shall live.

5Saying of Faith. And the apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” 6The Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to [this] mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you. Attitude of a Servant. 7“Who among you would say to your servant who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, ‘Come here immediately and take your place at table’? 8Would he not rather say to him, ‘Prepare something for me to eat. Put on your apron and wait on me while I eat and drink. You may eat and drink when I am finished’? 9Is he grateful to that servant because he did what was commanded? 10So should it be with you.
