6The maker of heaven and earth, the seas and all that is in them, Who keeps faith forever, 7secures justice for the oppressed, who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free; 8the LORD gives sight to the blind. The LORD raises up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous. 9The LORD protects the resident alien, comes to the aid of the orphan and the widow, but thwarts the way of the wicked. 10The LORD shall reign forever, your God, Zion, through all generations! 26Consider your own calling, brothers. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. 27Rather, God chose the foolish of the world to shame the wise, and God chose the weak of the world to shame the strong, 28and God chose the lowly and despised of the world, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who are something, 29so that no human being might boast before God. 30It is due to him that you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, as well as righteousness, sanctification, and redemption, 31so that, as it is written, “Whoever boasts, should boast in the Lord.”
